It’s been a long time coming, but the 2015’s are finally available.

2015 Marsanne: 18(ish) year old vines, lightly botrytised but fermented until (almost) dry. An exceptionally long and slow wild yeast ferment, mostly in barrel.

2015 Pinot Noir: 15 year old vines, Upper Yarra, a very cold vineyard, a long and late vintage, and nearly two years in barrel. Looking at dark fruit, meaty and mushroom characters with a lot of forest floor. This wine, throughout its entire life, just begged for time.

2016 Pinot Noir: This one isn’t quite released yet, I’ll make it available at the end of July. This wine is a big step up for me, and that’s not to take anything away from anything previous to it, all of which I’m very proud of, but it’s from epic 48 year old vines. Again, still Upper Yarra, but almost a polar opposite from the 2015. Around a year in barrel with only 25% new oak; and we’re looking at much more emphasis on clarity of fruit, but with obscene depth. If you can taste this wine and it not make you see through time and unravel all the mysteries of the universe for you, then I haven’t done my job.

It’s been a long time coming, and as a cheesy as it sounds; the liquid in these bottles really is my heart and soul. I hope it’s enjoyed.
